Scroll down for the amazing story of Rada, start from the bottom…
You will find the list of fabulous and generous people who’ve made this possible below!

A happy young lady in the sunshine… Andrea writes:
“she is a good girl. giving the halfgrown bulgarian shepperd dogs a hard time – running at them and biting them in the legs… playing with them a lot and running sometimes really fast. she is a good leader of the babies, comming back if I am calling her. and is always very hungry”
Dear friends, thanks to you Rada will not die like so many others in Sofia do every day.
THIS IS THE MUNICIPAL “SHELTER” OF SESLAVCI:

Animal Rescue Sofia is a Bulgarian animal-welfare organization, with a partner-organization Animal Recsue Sofia – Netherlands. We are working to improve the lives of dogs in the municipal shelters of Sofia and run a Spay&Neuter program for the stray dogs of the city. ARS is very young, but has over 400 successfull adoptions of shelter animals, has fed and is still feeding the poor souls in Seslavci 3 times a week and is in desperate need of donations to continue helping.
The municipal “shelter” in Seslavzi has no website. Please, see the video about Seslavci and perhaps help with what you can:
We’ve received the following generous donations for the poor souls of Seslavtzi:

BONGIORNO, Rada!
♥
Andrea sends a photo of Rada in her office – they go together every time Rada has an appointment with the doctor for accupuncture.
And guess what!? Rada has started to use both her front legs!
Well, not on the cat walk, but who knows, maybe Andrea has some more miracles up her sleave!
Andrea has also sent 50 kg more food for Animal Rescue Sofia!!!
Rada has not only found a new life,
but she is also helping her brothers and sisters in need.
We’ve received Rada’s first photos from Austria:

Rada looks so well!!!
“Here you can see that Rada is going outside with the other dogs
she also had yesterday a really short fast run in the deep snow,
it was really wonderful to look at her, she used both front legs
stepped together on the ground, amazing walking but it works!
She is eating, drinking, running
and having fun with the other dogs…”
♥ ♥ ♥
It’s such a pleasure to see how happy Rada feels in her new environment!
Rada has taken off to Vienna!!! There, she will be in the capable and loving hands of Andrea and her friends who’ve opened her hearts to her. Words are not enough to express my gratitude to Andrea and everyone, who’s helped Rada have a chance of life.
THANK YOU!!! (This is Rada on her way to the airport – somehow she knew it was just the beggining of a wonderful life!)

Little Rada will be taken in by Andrea and her “Rada charity team” with assistance of AnimalHelp Nitra. Rada wouldn’t have had this opportunity if it was not for the unbeliavable support she found in so many people arround Europe! She sends many tailwags and gentle smiles to her friends:

UPDATE 05.02.2010
IT IS A DAY TO CHEER!
Rada has found a home with Andrea Krieger and her friends in Vienna, Austria!!!
This is so overwhelming that we can hardly beleive it… ANDREA, YOU ARE AN ANGEL!
Here’s how Rada felt when she found out she will be loved!
RADA IS IN NEED OF DONATIONS TO TRAVEL TO HER NEW LIFE! ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED!
UPDATE 01.02.2010
Rada is now in a foster family, waiting for her people to find her.

There is a special secret to Rada. She is strong and brave. She is full of love, full of life! She is a lively, smiling soul that is sure life can be good for her one day – that she would have a place to call HOME. She has survived so far, maybe she is right? Maybe there is a person somewhere out there who would recognize in Rada that special someone who knows to see inside the heart, not just the body. Who will be right – cruel life or trusting Rada – that is for you to decide. Would you give Rada a chance to love you and make you proud?

Rada is about 6 months old. She is a medium-sized dog that has been starved, but will weigh about 15kg when she is at her best. She suffered canine distemper, but has been tested: CLEAR of the distemper virus. She is de-warmed and healthy. She will be vaccinated, neutered, microchipped and with an EU pet passport. The illness left her with a lifelong handycap – she has tremors and it affects her movement, but she can get arround, climb stairs and walk. Her disability left her fith NO CHANCE of being adopted in Bulgaria. She can not stay long at her fosters and is in urgent need of a loving home.

28.01.2010 – MEET RADA
Rada is a 6 months old girl. She was threwn out on the street ill with distemper. Rada survived her illness in it’s most deadly form – the neurological one. It left her not only homeless in the freezing winter, but also a handycap – unable to pick up garbage arround the bins.

Rada has no chance of being adopted in Bulgaria. Her survival so far is a miracle that will not last for long.
Rada’s disability is permanent. She suffers the cold and hunger by herself, innocent and defenceless. She craves human affection and is very, very kind. Rada has a wonderful personality and will do anything to make her owner happy. She does not deserve to die alone, starving and frozen on a long windy night. Please, help her.
Rada has been tested: CLEAR for the distemper virus. She is de-warmed and will get her vaccines as soon as she is strong enough. She gets allong well with other animals and has no problem with medical procedures. She wants to live.
We are looking for a forever home for Rada. She also needs special treatment and medication. Any help would be appreciated – a donation, a link exchange and of course – a HOME… Thank you!
